August 13th, 6:00-7:00pm - Cover Crops 101! Do you want to learn the basics of cover cropping? Are you curious as to what they are and why people use them? Jamie Scott will join us for a casual meeting to tell us a bit of basics on cover crops. Location TBA

  

August 19th -  -St Joseph County SWCD Board Meeting. 7:00 pm @ the Centre Township Branch Library (corner of Kern and Miami Roads, South Bend).  

  

August 26th - Marshall County's "Healthy Soils Cash and Cover Crop Field Day." 1:30pm-dusk. Refreshments and dinner are included . For more info and the agend for the field day please click HERE!

St. Joseph County!

   

The Big Trees of St. Joseph County is a cooperative program of St. Joseph County Parks, Purdue Extension of St. Joseph County, St. Joseph County SWCD, Rum Village Nature Center, and the University of Notre Dame Department of Biological Sciences. Champion trees are determined by a point value based on circumference, height, and crown spread. If you would like to nominate a tree please visit the St. Joseph County Parks site by clicking here to download a nomination form with measuring instructions.
